7/24/2009 Update (by David):

It was another long day. But the good thing is that mom's condition has improved to a point that her doctors think she can go home. According to my sister, mom got energized and doesn't want to lay on the bed once she heard the news! We finally came home by 8pm tonight.

Mom has stared eating some solid (still soft though) food. With the help of some medication, she seems to be handling them well. From all the tests done so far, it seems the cancer is still just in her stomach and not in the other part of her body. It already sounds like a good news to us now. The heart scan shows her heart is in a pretty good condition to handle the future chemotherapy. Her doctor will continue to let her eat food through mouth with help from some medication. The goal is for her to get back in a better shap physically. We measured her weight tonight, and are glad to see she regain some weights back.

She is still weak physically, but stronger spiritually. Before she went to bed, we prayed and give thanks for His watching over us in the last several days. I sort of checking on her decision of re-committing to Lord, and hope it was not a decision she made when she was affected by a lot medication. She clearly told me that it is her decision and then she prayed about it with a clear mind.

With her current condition, stomach cancer probably can be treated (or controlled) but will never go away! So it has become part of our life now. We will have to learn how to deal with it. After what we went through the last couple weeks, I know we are just at the beginning of this journey but He has prepared mom and at least me to face it with hope. It was another long day today, but I know I will have a good night sleep tonight.

Thank you for going through this us. Unless something urgent happens, you probably won't see another update from me soon.
