7/23/2009 Update (by David):
You have been great in supporting mom and the family with your care and prayers. Knowing that you are out there for us is comforting! I thank you for that. I will continue to send this update to you if you don't mind. But I really don't want to put this burdon on you, so please drop me a quick note if you still want to receive the update from me. If I don't hear from you, then I would assume e-mial update from me may not be the way for you.
Mom is still at UC today, and went through some more test. Basically they just need to find out the codition of the cancer. I think she is done with the testing now. Her oncologists should have the treatment plan for her by next Tuesday. Right now how to get the needed nutrition to her and keep her hydrated are equally important. Since her stomach is not functioning now, anything she takes through her mouh would just stay in her stomach and not going down. So her doctor is also trying to address that. Please pray for that the doctors give her a most effective and less painful way to do that. I think once that is addressed, she can go home. She misses home a lot.
Mom is handling her situation better now. I think she is touched by Lord in the last couple days. The music CD Yunting prepared for her and the Bible verses we read to her have been ministered her heart greatly. She admitted that in the past she probably just appreciate the melody of the music but did not pay much of the attention to the words. Now her heart is drawn to the lyrics of the songs. She told me today that she felt very thanksful for knowing God and feel sorry for those who don't know God especially when they face situation like hers. She re-commited to Lord and is willing to let God take the full control of her life from now on. She said she is willing to learn to pray openly. Even this seems to be the biggest challange mom ever faced, but she can see the light in her life much clearer now. Our God is amazing. Even it is still very painful to see her suffering through this, but my heart is more settle knowing Lord is still watching over her and taking care of her. Let's give our thanks to Lord for that.
I want to thank you again for the support and care. Many of you expressed that you are willing to visit her in UC. Since UC is not very easy to go from suburb and she could come home in the next couple days, I think you can hold off your visit till when she is home. I will be going back to UC and stay there tomorrow night and Saturday, so you won't hear from me until then. I missed some phone calls from you, and try to return them as much as I can. But I have been on the phone a lot these days and definitely would forget who called me from time to time. I apologize for that.
Life is tough, but God is good.
