7/21/2009 Update (by David):
Just want to give you another update since a lot of things happened today.
As for now, mom has just checked into University of Chicago Hospital. Mom threw up again before she went to bed last night, and had a couple of dark color bow movements too. Since she had the internal bleeding problem last year and she looked very bad last night, I was afraid that she has internal bleeding again. Her condition did not improve much this morning, so I just took her into ER of Edward Hospital then. After some testing on her, her doctors didn't think she was bleeding but were sure that she is dehydrated. Therefore she was admitted into the hospital. Since we plan to take her to UC for 2nd opinion and the treatment, her doctor was able to make some phone calls to arrange a hospital transfer tonight.
Even it was a last minute notice to many of us (whenever the room is available there), most of the family members happened to be at the hospital before she was taken to UC by an ambulance. Hugs and kisses from us and grandkids brought some comfort to her for sure. We were also able to encourage her more and pray for her. Brother was able to go with her and stay there for the first night. So I guess it is a nice way to start her treatment. She will have some more tests tomorrow and hopefully can start the treatment soon. Please pray for her adjustment to the new environment at UC and the medical care from the hospital.
Some good signs on her physical conditions - just from my point of view though. She has a lot more bow movements today. She did not have it for quite some times. She also has the hungry type of feeling from her stomach for the first time in a long while. With the medical attention today, she looks much much better than last night.
I thank you for all your prayer supports and care on mom and the family. I believe that makes the difference. Many of you wrote me some encouragement and let me know that your prayers are with us. I thank you for that, but apologize for not being able to write back to you individually now. I know you would understand!
I will be staying at the UC with mom tomorrow night, hopefully can give you some more good news.
