7/20/2009 Update (by David):

It was an exhaust (both physically and emotionally) week since my last email to you about mom. I felt that I am too tired/busy to write you an update about mom, but I know how important it is to let you know how she is doing and how you can pray for her.

Mom went through some more tests and saw the oncologist at Edward Hospital. The cancer has spreaded outside of the stomach but not yet in other organs. Surgical removal is not going to help. So chemotherpy seems to be the only option to treat her.

We plan to take her to University of Chicago for 2nd opinion and probably will have her treated there. Appointment with UC specialist is scheduled on this Thursday. But her health condition has been getting worse in the last few days, so we will try to move up the appointment and might need to take her to the hospital for some treatment.

She is taking liquid food only now. But it is hard to keep her energy up. Her stomach is not functioning well, so she is having hard time even with the liquid food. She is throwing up more. I will check with her doctor tomorrow and see if any medical mean can help her that. Please pray for that.

Please also pray that we can quickly have her checked up by UC and have the treatment started soon. Chemo is going to be hard on her. Please pray that the side effect from Chemo can be lowered to a point that she can tolerate it with a very weak body.

With family members all in the area, we are able to take care of her daily need among ourselves. But her spirit is definitely affected by her physical condition. I am also getting to a point that I don't know how to comfort her effectively. We need your prayers support, so we can still see some hope in time like this.

Surrounding by family members and brothers/sister still makes a lot of difference for mom. Your visits, phone calls, emails, cards, and care can keep lifting her up even when she feels down. We can only cry out to God for His mercy on her!

I don't think I am able to send out email update very often now. Hopefully I can do more once her condition is more stable. I don't mind if you need to call me for a quick update on her. I appreciate your support!
