Mom has a 'port' installed at her right chest today. The 'port' can be used for IV, blood drawing, and chemotherapy, so she doesn't have to go through needles for those stuffs. The anesthesia medication used for the port placement procedure makes her a little bit sleepy today.

The gastrostomy tube placement procedure did not take place today as we were told. The tube will be used to drain the acid fluid from the stomach. Do you know a person can generate about 1 liter of fluid in the stomach every day? Mom should feel better with the the placement of this tube. We will see if the procedure will take place on Tuesday.

Nutrition feeding tube will be the following step. Since it will go to the small intestine through her belly. It could be a bit more complicate. We will learn more about the plan later this week.

Mom will need some time to adjust whatever tubes placed on her, so it is likely her hospital stay might be extended to next week. We don't really know much at this point, just have to be patience. Sister, brother, and I are taking turn to stay with mom on a daily basis. So far it is still workable for our schedule. But it is a challenge to us physically and emotionally. Our transportation between hospital/work place/home is ok. I am thankful for that.

Items to pray for:
-Thankful for another peaceful day at the hospital
-Mom's peace in her heart and a up-lifting spirit to face all the difficulties
-Mom's recovery physically - to receive the treatment for cancer soon
-Mom's adjustment to her new buddy 'Port'.
-Doctors' wisdom in all their decision making for mom's treatment plan
-Smooth operation of any up coming procedures
-Safe transportation to hospital for us
-Sister, brother, and I to have a good balance between hospital stay with mom, work, and home physically and mentally.
