Today is mom's birthday.

Mom was brought home by the ambulance yesterday morning. She is weak but very clear minded. She is fully aware of her situation and has prepared herself for the moment to come.

Last night, she gave her words of encouragement and reminder clearly to all her kids and each grandchild - one by one. She told us to make sure we are all going where she is going so we can be re-united again. I led her reading Psalm 23 again, and tape recorded her reading in secret since she doesn't like me to do that. Reading God's words in her voice will be a precious memory for all of us. She also asked Yunting to sing several hymns. A lot of tears were among us, but I felt the sense of peace during that moment since I know mom is ready whenever that moment is here.

Mom is getting a little bit restless last night. She wanted to sit up and and kept asking brother and I to hold her tightly. This seems to be the only thing that I can do for her now. Mom wants God to take her quickly!

I think I have realized one amazing thing happened to her by now. Whenever a doctor or a nurse checked on her in the last three months, they kept asking her if she is in any pain. To all their surprise (and our surprise by now), mom has been pain free the whole time. She only had one pain relief medicine once after a small procedure cutting small hole on her tummy. That's all. Some of those doctors and nurses even gave me the dis-belief look since they never saw this kind of thing with someone in mom's condition. I remembered when this started three months ago, mom mentioned to me that she is afraid of pain. Thank God for His grace on mom for this.

Lord is still in control!
